Principles of the Reggio Emilia methodology for children
The Reggio Emilia philosophy is a method of experiential teaching based on the commitment of all members responsible for the education of children where:
- The child will be the protagonist. There will be a new look at the child. It is assumed that all children have the potential and curiosity to build their learning. The child will be the one who takes the initiative.
- The teacher is the guide. The role of the teacher will be to listen and accompany children productively in the exploration of topics, research and construction of learning.
- The importance of space. The organization, design and use of space promotes the type of relationships that are given and communication. In addition, the natural environment is incorporated, as far as possible, in the activities since it is a great tool for the development and understanding of the world around them.

The fundamental objective of this methodology, therefore, will be to create an active school, where research and reflection always predominate within an adequate environment that facilitates relations between the school and the family so that the well-being of the child is possible .
How is the Reggio Emilia project for children
Schools that opt for this methodology lack programming and an educational curriculum. They seek learning by focusing on the child's certainties and curiosities, through a close teacher-student relationship that occurs in an environment of trust between the two. Learning will be based on acquiring experiences, so it is important that children feel motivated to work in groups to solve problems, play alone or share games in groups. To do this, a wide variety of tools must be provided and a space that is welcoming that promotes the proper climate for learning.
