Parents want the best for our children: the best school, the best friends, the best job, the best boyfriend or girlfriend ... We want happiness and success for our children, however, it is important to keep in mind every day, at every moment, that the secret of success lies in educating our children from small in values and making them better people.
Each person has a scale of values, I was educated among many other things in empathy, my mother's sentence was always 'do not do what you would not like to be done to you'. Each parent considers primary values to educate our children, these are mine.
Fundamental values that we must teach our children
1. Educate children in tolerance: It is important to accept the difference of criteria, opinions, cultures, races or religions. Accepting others with their differences is basic to building healthy and solid human relationships. It is a value very close to respect.
2. Educate the children in responsibility: it is about teaching children that everything that is done has positive and negative consequences and that one has to take responsibility for their actions for good and for bad. In addition, this value is linked to the commitment to certain tasks and obligations.
3. Educate children in honesty:means being honest with oneself and with others, not lying for fear or convenience, admitting mistakes, doing things for others without expecting anything in return, being worthy of the confidence of others.
4. Educate the children in kindness: teach children to have an inclination to do good to others, to be kind to their peers and to behave kindly.
5- Educate the children to collaborate: refers to teaching basic skills such as ordering the room, picking up the table, placing their clothes ... These are skills that will help the children in the future because they are basic for life and their future .
6- Educate children in forgiveness: learning to recognize error and apologizing is a way to correct the damage caused.
7- Educate the children in empathy: put on the other's side, see things from the point of view of another person or understand others. It is a definitive value to avoid doing harm to others gratuitously or to understand why others behaved in a certain way.
