Christmas story. The New Year Fairy

Juan and Matías were two brothers of 7 and 8 years old. But they were very different. Juan was friendly and very studious. Matías had a more rebellious character. One day in December, while playing, a fairy appeared to them. The fairy told them:

- I have come to bring you a New Year's gift! Here you have some books.

Each brother took one of the books, but it turns out they were blank. There was nothing written! Juan, who was very grateful, got very answered and thanked the fairy. But Matias grumbled. He got so angry that he threw the little book into a puddle of mud. And when he got home, he used it to balance the leg of a table that was a bit lame.

A whole year passed, and again the fairy appeared. This time, he asked them to show him the books that he had given them the previous year. The book of John was like new. Matías's, all dirty. Then he told them to take a look at the pages of the books. Matías's book was full of blots. Nothing was understood. However, his brother's were full of beautiful gold letters.

- Matías- the fairy told him- All those blots are the moments when you did not behave well with others. When you argued with your brother, when you hit your friend, when you disobeyed your mother ... Your brother, however, has been kind, and that is why his book is written in gold letters. Juan, the golden letters are for each time you gave your mother a kiss, or when you left your toys for your sister. That day you helped your classmate or that one in which you helped cross an old man in class.

Juan wanted to keep his book. It was so beautiful! But the fairy said it could not be, because those books had to go to the library of Father Time quien, who wrote down each year which children had been good and which had behaved badly. In return, the fairy offered them two new books, both with blank pages. Matthias had learned the lesson, and promised the fairy that his book would be filled with golden letters the following year. Juan said he would try to improve more. The fairy said goodbye to them with a Happy New Year!
