Julio was so angry about the few gifts he had received the previous Christmas, that the letter he wrote to Santa Claus that year was so hard that Santa Claus himself went to visit him a few days before.
- Why so much anger and so many gifts? - Santa asked - But you have a lot of friends!
- I do not care! I want more toys and less friends.
And so annoying was that the good Santa Claus had to propose a deal:
- It's okay. As many other children have asked me to have more friends, I will give you one more gift for each friend you give up so that I can offer it to other children.
- Done! - said the child without hesitation ... - Also, you can keep them all.
That Christmas, Julio encountered a huge mountain of gifts. So many, that two days later I was still opening them. The child was happy, shouted to the winds how much he loved Santa Claus, and even wrote him several letters of thanks.
Then he started playing with his gifts. They were so amazing that he could not wait to go out and show them to the other children.
But, once on the street, none of the children showed interest in those toys. And neither by Julio himself. Not even when he offered to try the best and most modern devices. Vaya - Wow, thought the boy - I guess I've run out of friends. Well, what's the matter, I still have my toys.
And Julio returned home. For a few weeks he enjoyed a new toy every day, and the excitement he felt when releasing a toy every morning made him forget his lack of friends. But not a month had passed when his toys began to bore him. They always did the same, and the only way to change the games was by inventing new worlds and adventures, as he usually did with his friends.
However, doing it alone was not very funny. Then he began to miss his friends. He realized that
when he was with his friends, they always came up with new ideas and ways to adapt their games. That's why they could play with the same toy for weeks! And so he thought about it, that he finally became convinced that his friends were much better than any toy. But he had been playing with his friends for years and had never been bored with them! And after a year of deadly boredom, when Christmas arrived, he wrote a humble letter to Santa asking for forgiveness for having been so clumsy to exchange his best gifts for boring toys, and begged to recover all his old friends.
