Legend has it that many years ago a woman named Asibikaashi had an important mission: to care for the inhabitants of the earth and to protect them from all the ills of the world.

But you wonder, how could the woman accomplish such a complicated mission? What she did was lean over the cribs and beds of the children, and tej on her little heads she wove a spider web that caught all the evil that was on the earth between her threads. The great web firmly held all those evils until dawn, at that moment they vanished completely. Later people started moving around North America, colonizing territories and dispersing more and more. For this reason the woman could no longer protect all the children, it became too complicated a task! This is how the mothers and grandmothers began to "weave magic networks" that had the super power of "catching the bad dreams and nightmares of the little ones," resulting in their protection.

They tell that the Ojibwa Indians were one of the first tribes to start making these dream catchers. Dreams passed through their webs, filtering and gliding the good ones by means of pretty and brilliant feathers, all this until reaching us. On the other hand the bad dreams stayed in the fabric, protecting the children and helping them to have sweet dreams.
