Tying shoelaces is not easy for a child. To learn, you need to practice a lot. For that reason, from Guiainfantil.com we propose a craft so that your child will be easier to learn. It consists of creating a cardboard template so that the child can try again and again to put the cords through the holes and to make the knot and the loop.

It is very simple to do. What's more, this craft, you can do it together. Prepare your own template to learn to tie the strings and you will have a fun time.

Material:

  • Recycled cardboard
  • Shoelace (no matter the color)
  • Pen and marker
  • Punch and scissors
  • A shoe for your child

How to make the template to learn how to tie shoelaces, step by step

1. First, with a pen, draw the silhouette of your child's shoe or slipper sobre on the cardboard.

2.

Go over the silhouette that you drew with a marker, so that it looks good.

3. Now

draw 12 or 14 rounds (depends on how you want to put the laces next), separated by a few centimeters. These rounds will be the holes where the cord will go next.

4. You have to punch holes one by one

. Make sure that the hole is large enough to be able to introduce the cord afterwards.5. If you already have punched holes in the template, you can cut it out. If you prefer, leave the template on the cardboard. Maybe it lasts longer in this way.

Now you can put the cord through the holes

. You can do it in parallel or in the form of a cross.6. Once you have the template with the laces, you have to teach your child to tie a knot and tie. First

teach him how to tie the knot

. Tell him to stretch the ends of the cord upwards, crossing them and passing one end of the end under the other as if it were a bridge. Now you have to pull both ends and you will get a knot.7.

To do the lacing

, you can tell the child to make two rabbit ears with each end of the string and pass one of the ears under the other. By pulling them, you will make a loop. You can also make a single ear and pass the other cord around as if hugging it. Then, it goes under and when pulling the cord, it will have a loop again.Tips:

A lot of patience. You will have to practice a lot, but surely your son learns to tie his shoelaces. If you have any questions, you also have a video to see how this manual is done step by step.
