Children's animal poems: Renata

A children's poem of animals written by Marisa Alonso Santamaría that the children will enjoy and encourage them to continue reading more stories in verse.

When the sun rises,

every morning,

the cat Renata

looks out the window.

Every morning

sit down is,

in this window

ready to listen.

The birds sing,

the cat looks at them,

their trills hear

their songs admire.

Sing the Canary,

after the goldfinch,

Renata guess

who sings first.

Cats are arriving little by little over the rooftops,

they all come to the concert,

Renata has called them.

Two dogs are barking,

they all send them to silence,

that with their loud barking

they do not let them listen.

All the silent cats,

all very quiet are,

Renata is excited

almost ready to cry.

Another morning has passed,

Renata is at the window,

and all the little birds

tell her until tomorrow.
