Material:

Two plastic bottles

  • sand or salt
  • Colored chalk
  • Insulating tape
  • Scissors
  • Funnel
  • American ribbon
  • How to make the hourglass step by step

1. If you use salt and you want it to be colored, check a little salt on a plate and color with a chalk.

2. If the salt is too fat, you can crush it with a mortar.

2. Pour the already colored salt into one of the plastic bottles. You can use a funnel.

3. Cover the bottle with tape and make a hole in the center. That is not too small, because if you do not get stuck salt.

4. Stick the other bottle (without cap) to the other with the help of electrical tape.

5. To know how long your hourglass measures, you just have to check it.

It has a chronometer the seconds it takes to drop the salt from the bottle . If you want it to be an exact minute, try throwing more sand or removing if it exceeds the minute ... And you have it!Video that explains how to make an hourglass with recycled material
