What to do when a child has a blister

First of all, you should clean the blister with saline or saline solution without rubbing or applying friction and then apply an antiseptic throughout the area:

1. If the blister fluid is clean:

- Open the ampoule when the antiseptic has dried to empty all the liquid inside, leaving a large opening to prevent it from closing again, but without removing the skin layer of the ampoule because it will serve protective layer of the wound.

- Apply the recommended pharmacological treatment for the burn.

- Cover with sterile gauze or a dressing.

- Check the condition of the wound every 12 hours.

2. If the blister fluid is cloudy or purulent:

- Open the blister and trim all the skin covering the wound.

- Thoroughly clean the entire area with physiological saline or isotonic saline.

- Apply the recommended pharmacological treatment, which is usually a treatment gel.

- Cover with a dressing or sterile gauze.

- Control the lesion every 12 hours.
