The lion that went to war. Fables for children
Once, a lion wanted to start a war in neighboring territories with the idea of extending their domains. So he needed to put together a powerful army, so he sent for and recruited all the animals that lived in his kingdom.
Once they were all gathered before him, to each one he assigned a position according to his nature. The elephant would be in charge of transporting all the weapons, on its wide and strong back; the bear was chosen to go to the front of the squadron; the fox would be in charge of diplomatic business; the leopard would enter the rear to surprise the enemies.
When almost all the animals, already had assigned their missions, you heard a voice that said:
- I recommend my lord that donkeys and hares do not participate in the war! The donkey is clumsy and the hare is fearful!
