Child's tale: The eagle, the crow and the shepherd
Throwing himself from a hill, an eagle snatched a lamb.
He saw a raven and trying to imitate the eagle, he threw himself on a ram, but with such poor knowledge in art that his claws were entangled in the wool, and beating his wings to the maximum did not manage to let go.
When the shepherd saw what was happening, he took the crow, and cutting off the tips of its wings, he took it to his children.
His children asked him what kind of bird this was, and he told them:
- For me, he is only a crow; but he, he thinks himself an eagle.
Moral: Put your effort and dedication in what you are really prepared for, not in what does not correspond to you.
