The Tale of Nothing

Listen to children, this story

that I now invent.

This story has nothing,

no geniuses, no princesses, no fairies.

It has no castles, no haunted houses,

no girl in a red hood.

It does not speak of wolves, or grandmothers,

or of magic carpet that flies.

There is no sleeping beauty in him, nor a brave prince.

There are no witches, I think

no little pigs, no ugly ducklings,

no dwarves, no gnomes, Pul no Thumbelina, no lead soldier.

There is not Cinderella

with a crystal shoe

nor the forty thieves of Ali-Babá,

nor that cat in boots,

nor Manolito Gafotas,

nor a chocolate or sponge house,

nor the liar Pinocchio.

So, this story, what does it have?

well ... only that telling it entertains.
