Between 6 and 10 months babies start using both eyes at the same time. Up to this moment his vision is very immature: they see in a blurred way, they do not capture the colors and they have difficulty distinguishing the objects.

When the floor stage begins and they begin to crawl, babies begin to use the focus and develop peripheral vision. This is because he no longer has to be quiet in one place but has to move. He develops other skills and needs more resources to function in his new environment.

Activities to stimulate the vision of babies between 6 and 10 months

It would be convenient to perform the first visual examination with an optometrist at 6 months, in addition we can perform several games of visual stimulation at home:

- Exercise visual memory: For them, cuckoo games are very useful and we can change gestures with our faces.

- Floor exercises: activity blankets or floor gyms stimulate the movements of the baby before the crawling phase, so you can coordinate your body and the use of both eyes equally.

- Eye-hand coordination: we can offer you a toy so that you can take it with one hand and another so that you can take it with the other.

- Games in front of the mirror: at first babies will not recognize their own image. The possible reaction to be seen will be of satisfaction, it is possible to smile and try to touch the mirror.

- Playing with the sound: Tie bells or bells to the booties so that you learn to relate the movements of your body to the sound.

- Digital clamp: place small objects next to him so that he starts trying to grasp them by making the clamp with his fingers.

With these activities, the baby will try to focus on what he has close up and train the peripheral vision that is almost 180º.
