How much weight an egg can support. Experiment for children

But this does not prevent him from being able to support several kilos of weight on top, since his vault shape causes the weight to be distributed and transmitted to the base on which the egg is. The egg is composed of a fragile shell to allow the chick to break it from within. But this does not prevent him from being able to support several kilos of weight on top, since his vault shape causes the weight to be distributed and transmitted to the base on which the egg is.

With this simple experiment for children you can check the resistance of the egg and how it is able to support the weight of several books without breaking.

Materials

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 small glasses
  • 1 dish
  • Books
Tip: Place the plate and books carefully because otherwise the eggs could break.

How to see the resistance of the egg, step by step

1. Take three eggs and place them in three small glass cups.

2. Place an egg in each of the glass cups.

3. Carefully put a plate on the eggs.

4. Place, little by little, several books on the plate to increase the weight and see how far the eggs can hold.
