But if we want to surprise children in Lisbon, two excellent options are the Oceanarium and the Lisbon Zoo, both with a large number of animals.

- Oceanário de Lisboa

With more than 15,000 animals of 450 different species, the Oceanário de Lisboa is the second largest aquarium in Europe, behind the L'Oceanogràfic de Valencia.

In its central aquarium, children will be surprised with sharks, rays, blankets and tropical fish, but all the oceanographic is worth it, starting with the building itself, which floats on the water and is accessed by some catwalks.

The Oceanário is on the Esplanada Don Carlos I of the Parque de las Naciones.
The schedule of the oceanarium is from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in summer and closing one hour before in winter.

Adults must pay 13 euros to enter the oceanarium, while retired people and children between 4 and 12 years old, only pay 9 euros.

- National Museum of Two Cars

One of the most visited museums in Lisbon is the one that houses a large and valuable collection of carriages dating from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

The oldest vehicle in the museum is a carriage that belonged to Felipe III of Spain; one of the most visited along with the three Italian baroque floats built in 1716 and belonging to Pope Clement XI.

The museum is small and gathers real automotive gems. It is located near the Jerónimos Monastery in Praça Alfonso de Alburquerque, in Belém.

The visiting hours of the museum are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Close on Mondays

The price of admission to the museum is 5 euros for adults, and 2.50 euros for young people between 15 and 25 years old. Children under 14 years old do not pay entry.

- National Museum of Archeology

Egyptian Mummies, gold objects, vessels and all kinds of archaeological pieces that date from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages are exhibited in the most important archaeological collection in Portugal.

The museum is located in the same building as the Jerónimos Monastery in Praça do Império.

The visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Close on Mondays

On Sundays and holidays, between 10:00 and 14:00 hours, admission is free. The rest of the week, the entrance fee is 5 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for people over 65 years old. Children under 14 years old, do not pay entrance fee.

- Lisbon Zoo

Dolphins, tigers, giraffes and hundreds of animals from all continents make up a very interesting zoo in the bay of Lisbon.

Perhaps the most surprising is its cable car that allows you to see the animals from the air in a 20-minute trip that will surprise the youngest members of the family.

The zoo is in Estrada de Benfica 158, Sete Rios.

Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from October to April and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from May to September.

Admission for adults costs 17 euros and children for 3 to 11 years: 12.50 euros.
