The cat and the mouse. Fable for children

An owl, a weasel, a cat and a mouse lived in different places on a dry trunk. Although they were natural enemies, and distrustful of each other, none left their refuge. The owner of the field, one day decided to eliminate them, placed traps and a network at the base of the trunk.

The first to fall, was the cat, who saw himself in danger began to scream. When he heard the mouse he was glad, because in this way he got rid of his enemy, but the cat said:

-If I die you will be at the mercy of the owl and the weasel, who want more than me to be their food, but if you help me, in gratitude I will compensate you by protecting you.

The mouse released the cat, and fled the place. After a while the cat realized that the mouse was still afraid of him, so he said:

- Do you think that I have forgotten my promise, when you saved me from the trap?

-No! - said the little mouse - but neither do I forget your instinct, nor in what circumstances have you made the promise.

Moraleja: We never trust in alliances that fear made, in passing fear, they are worth a damn.
