Knowing how to read and understand what is read is essential to acquire knowledge and obtain maximum school performance. The first thing is to rule out having a vision problem or any difficulty that prevents it.

Tips for children to read

Set an example. If you see us reading and associate our reading time with quiet, relaxed and fun moments, it will be much easier for them to imitate us. 2.
Reading with the children aloud , getting used to reading a story when going to bed will be a very pleasant time for them, they will see that they have all our attention and will surely end up liking them because it will be a moment magical and will create an emotional bond between parents and children very beneficial.3.
Choose stories that they like . If our children show interest in the world of dragons, monsters, princesses, cars or animals, we must choose those themes and always with appropriate languages at their age.4.
Represent and voice the characters in the stories , create stories in which they, their friends, or their pets are the protagonists. Making small theaters, inventing different endings for the same story, are ideas that will help us to maintain their interest, stimulate their creativity and make them have fun and know how to improvise.5.
Discuss with the children what we have read will be fundamental for the comprehension of the reading. 6.
Take the children to the bookstores and let them choose their stories according to their interest. 7.
Going with the children to the libraries , there are areas adapted for reading, they do activities for children such as storytellers and they will share the experience with more children. They can also have their librarian card with which they can take stories and take them home to read.8.

Give stories to their friends chosen by themselves. Children should understand that reading is to enjoy, that books can transport us to fantastic worlds, make our imagination fly even if we are between four walls, because they teach us, we have fun and entertain, and little by little they will discover their magic .
