The classic games for children were, for the most part, physical activities where agility, running and jumping were part of children's daily lives. In the current day, children's pastimes have changed, although it still follows the traditional spirit in schools.

One of the games that children used to practice most was the handkerchief game. In Guiainfantil we remind you how to play this fun pastime so you can teach it to your children and they can do the same thing their parents did when they were little.

How to play the handkerchief game

The handkerchief game encompasses the values of team spirit and team competitiveness, since it is a game that faces two equal teams in order to win the final victory.

As in the game of chairs, a person should act as a neutral judge and be placed in the center of the two teams extending a handkerchief with his arm.

To start, each member of the team will be assigned a number and will be paired with the rival who has the same number. The person who will act as judge must say the number high and the two participants will run to remove the handkerchief and take it to its base. If the one who takes the handkerchief is caught by the opponent before reaching his base, the point will be for the other team. The winner will be the team with the most points, either taking the handkerchief to the base or catching his opponent.
