What to visit in Paris with the children

The Eiffel Tower

Built on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1889, it has become the most famous and emblematic monument in Paris. Its large size and the original design of Gustave Eiffel still amaze older people and children when they come to visit him.

You can climb the Eiffel Tower to any of its three levels, either by elevator (option recommended by children) or by stairs.

For the second floor in the elevator prices are € 8.50 for adults, € 7 for young people between 12 and 24 years and € 4 for children from 4 to 11 years. For the upper floor are € 14, € 12.50 and € 9.50 respectively. The hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., although the schedule is extended one more hour in summer.

Montmartre and Sacre Coeur, Church of the Sacred Heart

The Elysian fields provide a majestic view of Paris, with a grand avenue that culminates in the Charles de Gaulle square where the Arc de Triomphe is located. Although not as tall as Eiffel Tower, it can be interesting to climb its almost 300 steps to enjoy beautiful views of the city.

Prices are around € 10 for those over 18, with free admission for children. The hours are from 10:00 to 22:30 h.

Notre Dame Cathedral

This spectacular church is located on a small island that can be accessed from both sides of the city. Notre-Dame is considered a Unesco Heritage because it is one of the best examples of Gothic art.

You can enter the cathedral for free during visiting hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., but to go up to the towers, adults must pay an entrance fee of € 8, children under the age of 18 have a ticket. free

The Pantheon

One of the oldest monuments in Paris, the Pantheon combines Gothic and Greek art, and houses sculptures of great beauty inside. It opens from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Palace of Versailles

This palace is one of the most famous, an example of the waste and luxury of some French kings, who wanted to show the splendor of their empire through this construction.

It is located on the outskirts of Paris, so it is advisable to reserve a whole day to visit it. Guided tours are offered that explain the most important rooms (one of the most impressive for children is the Hall of Mirrors), and afterwards they can play and walk through its large gardens.

It is one of the most requested visits, so you should plan well and even buy tickets in advance. Children do not pay admission, and adults can enjoy € 15 of the palace and gardens of this impressive monument.
