During the first months of life, the baby observes the world from an unusual perspective. Most of the time he is lying on his back looking at the ceiling until an adult is caught in arms and can see the world like the rest of the people.

The change begins when the neck muscles become stronger and the baby is able to lift his head. With the help of an adult hand, he tries to sit down, although he falls down immediately. The baby's muscles develop slowly, so parents must be patient. In a short time, the baby will have crossed that threshold and will sit without help.

When the baby begins to sit

When the baby experiences what he is sitting, at three months of age, he does everything possible to be placed in that position. In the end, he has enough strength to get up, although he lacks the balance to stay seated. That is why we adopt the so-called tripod posture, in which the baby stays together while resting his hands on the ground.

Between four and seven months, almost all babies try to sit by themselves, without help from anyone. The muscles of the neck, back and legs are already developed and the baby can get up and stay in that position, which he loves. Normally this happens after five months, but some babies do not get it until the eighth month. In addition to enjoying the view you have with that posture, the baby can use his arms and hands with complete freedom. You can reach objects and examine them. With the right toys, discover a new world.

Between seven and nine months, the baby is able to stay seated for a few minutes. But now he is about to cross a very important threshold, that of crawling using all four limbs. All you have to do is lean forward when you are sitting and place your hands on the ground. Then, keeping the balance, you should only make small movements to crawl.
